welcome to Carnelian during the 1500s. the family in power is the durante family. while the country is experiencing the best economic status that it's had in years, war looms on the horizon. with such a selfish king. the king passes out note after note of new laws the require the kingdom to adhere to him. treason against the king or his laws result in immediate death-- that's if you get caught.
the durante family came to power through war. when there wasn't a king to claim the throne in the 1400s, king eric Vi came to power. his wife bore him 4 sons. of which king eric vii now resides over the throne. this was not an easy battle but being that he was the next in line, he constantly has to look over his shoulder to make sure that his brothers remain in line, assigning them different tasks to keep them at bay. there are two princesses as well. king eric vii came to power in 1521 on his 18th birthday, having everything given to him he lives a life of luxury and spending. he takes what he wants, when he wants it regardless of whose toes he is stepping on. while he is a ruthless king to other nations, he is a generous king to his kingdom and his kingdom is more successful now than it has been in the last 100 years.
king eric vi is the one that broke away from the catholic church towards the end of his regime. he did this in order to have complete control over his kingdom. now king eric vii is the head of the church making him next to god not only because of the throne but because of his position within the church. his bishops run the church processions while he dictates under the consul of others how the church should be run.
king eric vii is a man with a lustful mind. he lusts after women, art, sports, and the ultimate power. there is pressure from his advisors to find himself a queen and to produce an heir so that one of his brothers, whom are married will not step up to the thorne and over throw our king eric vii. can our lustful king find himself a lady of a domestic or foreign court worthy of the title of a queen? or will one of the other durante brother stake their claim to the throne thrusting Carnelian into a revolution?
welcome to the durante age
