SHAH AHMAD DURRANI, 24The Shah of India has only held his title for four years. Elected almost unanimously by the clans who had a say, he was the favorite of the old Shah who named him as his preferred successor on his deathbed. Because of the youth of his reign, and uprisings in a few provinces, he send his younger sister to Versailles to try to break the ice before he considers joining her.
QUEEN ----- DURRANI, 21The first wife of the Shah, the Queen came from a smaller tribe and caused no shortage of outrage amongst some of the larger tribes. Generally not well liked by the people, she has a three year old daughter and a few months old son. She is insanely jealous of the Shah's obvious favoritism of his youngest wife, and it is said she will do anything to rid herself of her rival and the woman's son.
LADY ----- DURRANI, 20The only wife who has yet to present the Shah with a child. She was more of a consolation to the larger tribes and comes from a rich province and wealthy family.
LADY ----- DURRANI, 18Ahmad Shah's favorite wife and mother of his first son. A much more likable girl than the Queen, some say she will displace the Shah's first wife and her son will be his heir.
LORD ----- ABDALI, 30Eldest brother of the Shah and Princess Durrani, he inherited his father's original title and remains his brother's staunchest supporter. He chose not to change his name with the rest of his family out of a show of kinship with his people.
LADY ----- ABDALI, 27For such a wealthy man to have only one wife is almost unheard of, but Lady Abdali has remained the only wife of the Lord Abdali for these past 14 years. She and Lord Abdali were married at a very young age, and didn't actually begin cohabitation until she turned eighteen. She has yet to give him a child.PRINCESS CHANDRA DURRANI, 20
The youngest of the Abdali-Durrani siblings, she is considered by some in India to be an old maid because of her advanced age and unmarried state. Her brother the Shah sent her ahead to Versailles to see what all the fuss was about, and to see if he couldn't get her married off to one of the European princes.
