HISTORY
* One December 3, 1731 Gemma Ashford was born into the Sottish royalty as the first child of the King and Queen.
*When she was born she looked nothing like her father which caused suspicions about the Queen quite early on.
*Despite her looks she was the pride and joy of her father. He loved her very much and would remain his favorite all through her life.
*When Gemma turned 15 years old, a young nobleman from Spain caught her eye while he was visiting on business. She and her mother had never been close so she had no idea on how to react to men. When he made advances, she thought for sure he was going to ask for her hand. He promised he would return in a few months to speak to her father.
*After three months of waiting for him to return, news came of his engagement to another woman. Gemma was heartbroken.
*She then declared that she would never love anyone again for as long as she shall live and that she would hang herself before she felt anything besides hatred for the Spaniards.
*At age 18, Gemma found herself paying more and more attention to the doings of her mother. She observed her looking at the Duke Aston more than a married woman should.
* When Aeron was born, Gemma's fears were confirmed. The little boy looked exactly like the Duke.
* Gemma tried as hard as she could to ignore the fact that her mother was having an affair. But Aeron was a constant reminder.
* She pitied her mother, but even more so her father. Her family was more broken then what she had ever really realized.
* Three days after her twentieth birthday, Gemma discovered her mothers Diary.
* After reading a few entries written after her birth, Gemma began to wonder if she was a legitimate daughter of the king, the father that had loved her so much.
* Looking into a mirror in her room, Gemma realized she looked like her mother and nothing very much like her father. Their personalities were similar, but physically they were not.
* She smashed the mirror to pieces and with one shard cut the beautiful lengths of her hair.
*Now only a few weeks later, her once hip length hair rests at her shoulders.
*She now looks at her mother with suspicion and distrust in her eyes.
* She has taken in upon herself to make sure that her siblings never find out the truth that some of them or perhaps all of them are illegitimate heirs to the throne.
*Since they have come to France, Gemma finds it only a beneficial idea for her to secure a husband soon. It now rests on her shoulders to protect her family name.
