Marquess Alfred Hayes is the father of Catherine Hayes. He loves his daughter very much (as she is the only family he has left since his wife and son died in childbirth) and likes to dote upon her and wishes only the best for her. However, despite his heart being in the right place, his actions and judgement is not always for the best. He's slightly naive. He was the one who pushed his daughter to act more like a boy and indulge in tomboy activities to make up for the death of his son. He also is currently the one trying to force his daughter to fall in love with and marry Prince Banastre. He also hates music and singing (he even banned it from his home) as it reminds him of his deceased wife and reminders of her bring back painful memories. He's never quite gotten over the death of his wife (especially with Katie looking just like her), but he hides his pain with a smile.
Despite his shortcomings, Alfred is a very friendly, optimistic and, kind man and he's very protective of his only child. His play by is Robbie Coltrane.[/center][/font]
