I was thinking about starting some sort of event thread - something fun like a party - so that we could get roleplaying and have an opportunity for our characters to mingle/make acquaintances.
What do you think?

How about an anniversary celebration. Maybe celebrating the palace it's self the building of it that way people can awe at the wonder that is the palace of Versailles.

Excellent suggestion! I just did a little reading on Versailles and it is very old, but also went through several expansions. Perhaps it could be both an anniversary event as well as celebrating the newest additions to the palace to accommodate more royalty or something.
