Raised in what he felt to be an oppressively religious household, the King was not pleased when his parents returned from Ireland with a wife for him reminiscent of his own mother. In time he grew to respect her, though it dissipated completely when the Queen's religious zeal extended to negatively affect his only son, with whom he has a close relationship. Without love for his wife, the King occupies himself with several mistresses.

Heir to the Monacan throne, the prince has suffered from the falling sickness since an early age, which his mother attributes to demonic possession. Enduring many religious rituals throughout the years, the prince's relationship with his mother and twin are strained in the least. Disdainfully he views the practices as little more than impediments toward his own grander purpose of power and conquest, believing himself to be the reincarnation of Julius Caesar.
